Hygiene measures, social distancing and facemasks still required - Statia further downscales COVID-19 measures

The Public Entity St. Eustatius will further downscale the COVID-19 measures as of Monday, April 11th, 2022. As of that day, there will be no restrictions anymore for gatherings. Persons visiting Statia, vaccinated or not vaccinated, do not need to go into quarantine. The current protocol of wearing face masks, social distancing, proper ventilation in all indoor premises, and hygiene measures is still applicable for all businesses. In addition, businesses are required to maintain their current COVID-19 protocol for their establishment.

Entry requirements

Whether a person is vaccinated or not, quarantine is not required anymore when entering Statia. A mandatory PCR test (48 hours prior to departure from your destination) or an Antigen test (24 hours prior to departure from your destination) is required, except when a person also had a booster. This means that fully vaccinated individuals that also had the booster, do not need to conduct a PCR test prior to entering . However, everyone needs to do a mandatory Antigen test on the 5th day after their arrival in Statia.

The burden on the economy and the local health care system is the main reason that the local government further downscales the COVID-19 measures, while remaining cautious and taking steps to protect the island.
